At present I own neither half of this exceptional agate, which was found by myself in the autumn of 2014, while searching shingle banks in the evening. Aside from the gorgeous folding jasper that appears in two areas both above and between the onyx banding, the best feature of this stone is the fine growth of well-formed quartz crystal at the base, where the subtle pink agate fortifications highlight its shape. This is an "Island Agate", although, the quartz does not completely surround the chalcedony, rather the two are integrated intimately, with unusual and pleasing results.
